Reservations & Tables
Do I need to make a reservation at Schneggarei?
Reservations are recommended. We still keep 50 walk-in seats available every day—for anyone who decides to drop by on a whim.
How do I reserve a table?
It's easy—just use our reservation portal.
How long will I have the table?
Two shifts, two possibilities.
For the first shift, we have the following schedule: 1 hour and 15 minutes at noon, and 2 hours in the evening.
There's no time limit during the second shift—neither at lunchtime nor in the evening. The table is yours for as long as you like.
Both options are included when you book—you decide which one fits your day better.
Is a deposit required when making a reservation?
Reservation Guarantee
To make a reservation, you must provide a credit card as a guarantee—50 € per person.
No amount will be charged to your card. The card will only be authorized. As always, you'll pay when you're here at our store, just as usual, using the payment method of your choice.
The guarantee is only forfeited in one case: if no one shows up or if the reservation is canceled at the last minute.
What happens if I need to cancel my reservation?
Cancellations are free of charge up to 24 hours before the reservation time.
Can I reserve specific tables?
No, we can’t make firm table reservations—we assign tables on the day of your visit based on occupancy and group size. However, we’re happy to accommodate other special requests, such as allergies and food intolerances, birthdays, and high chairs. Just let us know what you need when you make your reservation.
Cuisine & Menu
What kind of food does the Schneggarei serve?
Modern Austrian classics and wood-fired pizza. Schnitzel, Kaiserschmarrn, seasonal dishes—and a pizza that has already won several awards.

Do you have vegetarian and vegan dishes?
Yes, both are always on the menu—not just as side dishes. Just let us know when you order, and we'll be happy to help you choose.
What about allergies and food intolerances?
All 14 major allergens listed in the EU regulation are marked on the menu. Please let our staff know directly anyway—in a kitchen like ours, cross-contamination can never be completely ruled out, and we want to play it safe.
Are there any gluten-free options?
Yes, there are, but no pizza.
Are there different pizza sizes?
No, there's only one pizza size.
Do you serve fondue?
Yes, meat fondue in the evening by advance order and cheese fondue in the evening à la carte for tables.
Can I get pizza to go?

Yes, we always have something for our little guests, too.
Hours & Season
When is the Schneggarei open?
In winter, daily from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. In summer, Thursday through Monday from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
When is the winter season in Lech?
The 2026/27 Ski Arlberg season runs from December 2, 2026, to April 18, 2027. We are open daily during this time.
When is the summer season?
The mountain summer season in Lech Zürs runs from mid-June to early October—in 2026, from June 18 to October 4. We are open in the summer starting in early July, Thursday through Monday.
Are you open between seasons?
No. Lech is a seasonal resort—it’s closed in the spring and late fall. The exact dates are always listed on our homepage.
Location, Directions & Parking
Where exactly is Schneggarei located?
Tannberg 629, 6764 Lech am Arlberg — right in the center of Lech and right on the slopes. You don’t need a car or a shuttle to get here. We also have a parking lot for our customers, a Vlotte, and a Tesla charging station.
How far is it from the lifts/town center to the Schneggarei?

Can I come to your place wearing my ski boots?
Yes, anytime. It’s pretty common at lunchtime and during après-ski.
Where can I park?
In Lech, you can use the Anger and Mühle underground parking garages, the Green Garage at Rüfiplatz, and the Schlosskopf day parking lot. We also have our own parking spaces for our guests right in front of the Schneggarei, as well as electric car charging stations.
How do I get to Lech am Arlberg?
By car via the Flexen Pass Road (L 198). By train to Langen am Arlberg (15 km, approx. 20 minutes, bus 750) or St. Anton am Arlberg (20 km, approx. 30 minutes, bus 760). The nearest airports are Innsbruck (120 km), Friedrichshafen (130 km), Memmingen (160 km), and Zurich (190 km). Find all the details on our region page [Link].
Do I need winter tires?
Yes. From November 1 through April 15, winter tires are required by law in Austria under winter conditions. On the Arlberg Pass, snow chains may also be required—check the road report before driving.
Do I need a vignette?
Yes, for Austrian highways. There are one-day, 10-day, two-month, and annual vignettes, including digital ones.
Is there a local bus?
Yes. The blue local buses connect Lech, Oberlech, Zug, Zürs, and Stubenbach. They’re free with the Lech Card.
Après-Ski, Bar & Events
When does après-ski start at your place?
At 3:00 p.m. Our afternoon menu is available starting at 2:00 p.m., from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.—après-ski with music then starts at 3:00 p.m.
Is there live music or DJs?
Yes, starting at 10/11 p.m. — DJ sets and live music. You can find the latest dates on our Instagram account
How late are you open in the evenings?
In the winter until 1:00 a.m., in the summer until 11:00 p.m.
Is there a dress code?
No,just come dressed however you feel comfortable.
Can you just have a drink at your place?
Yes, anytime—at the bar, on the terrace, and in the afternoon.

Can I host a party, wedding, or corporate event at your venue?

How many people can the Schneggarei accommodate?
About 120 seats inside, not including the bar and gallery, plus our sun terrace
For groups of what size or larger is a separate request required?
For groups of 15 or more.
Are there group menus?
Yes, they're always customized.
Family, Children, and Dogs
Is the Schneggarei family-friendly?
Yes. In the summer, there’s an outdoor playground, plus table tennis, cornhole, and darts. It’s perfectly normal to see children here at lunchtime and in the afternoon.
Are there high chairs and changing stations?
Yes, high chairs and changing stations are available.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, dogs are welcome here.

Gift Certificates & Store
Are there gift certificates for the Schneggarei?
Yes, through our online store. A gift certificate for an evening in Lech makes for a pretty great gift.
Around Lech Zürs
How high above sea level is Lech am Arlberg?
Lech is located at 1,450 meters above sea level, and the ski area extends up to 2,450 meters. Zürs is located at around 1,720 meters, and Oberlech at about 1,700 meters.
How large is the Ski Arlberg ski area?
305 kilometers of ski runs, 88 lifts and cable cars, and 200 kilometers of high-alpine deep-snow runs. The network includes St. Anton – St. Christoph – Stuben, Lech – Oberlech – Zürs, and Warth-Schröcken.
What is the White Ring?
The classic ski circuit around the Omeshorn: about 22 kilometers of downhill runs and 5,500 meters of elevation gain, passing through Lech, Zürs, Zug, and Oberlech. Once a winter, it becomes a race.
What is the Green Ring?
The summer version: 28.5 kilometers in three stages around Lech, featuring 35 hidden legends along the way, three summit logs, a geotrail, and a bivouac. Individual stages can be shortened by taking the mountain railways.
How many hiking trails are there in Lech Zürs?
Over 350 kilometers of marked hiking trails. In addition, there’s the Lechweg (125 km to Füssen), the Arlberg Trail, and 10 trail running routes totaling 54 kilometers.
What is Formarin Lake, and how do I get there?
A mountain lake below the Rote Wand, voted Austria’s most beautiful place in 2015. About 15 kilometers from Lech; not accessible by private car—a blue public bus runs to Alpe Formarin via a toll road. It takes about 5 hours to walk from Lech, and about 3 hours round-trip by mountain bike.
What is the Skyspace Lech?
A walk-in light installation by artist James Turrell, located 1,780 meters above Oberlech and opened in 2018. Accessible on foot from Oberlech or Schlössle. Most beautiful at sunrise or sunset.
What is the Lech Card?
The guest card for overnight guests in Lech, Warth, and Stuben, valid in the summer from June 18 to October 26. It includes all six summer lifts, the local bus, the forest swimming pool, and numerous guided activities. 2026 prices: €46 (1–2 days) to €135 (8–14 days); free for children 14 and under.
What events are there in Lech?
In winter, the Tanzcafé Arlberg Music Festival with free concerts and *Der Weiße Ring*—the race. In summer, the Literaricum Lech (July), the Lech Classic Festival (early August), the Philosophicum Lech (September), and the Medicinicum Lech.
When was Lech founded?
The Walser people settled in the valley during the first half of the 14th century. The first documented mention of Lech dates back to March 11, 1453; Zürs was already mentioned in 1416. Tourism began with the Arlberg Railway (1884) and the Flexen Road, and skiing took off in the mid-1920s.
When is the best time to visit Lech?
For skiing, December through April—the 2026/27 season runs from December 2, 2026, to April 18, 2027. For hiking and summer in the mountains, mid-June through early October. We’re open during both seasons.
Where can I find good food in Lech?
For a town of its size, Lech has an exceptional variety of dining options, ranging from award-winning cuisine to traditional mountain hut fare.
