COZY. UNIQUE. UNCOMPLICATED.
In the middle of Lech, right on the piste, lies a place that combines alpine charm, hospitality and culinary delights in the most beautiful way: the Schneggarei.
Regional classics are reinterpreted under our culinary signature.
Modern Austrian cuisine meets the best wood-fired pizza on the Arlberg - an unbeatable combination.
Whether for a lunch break on the sun terrace, as a refreshment during après-ski or for a relaxed dinner by the crackling fireplace:
Winter tastes particularly good in the Schneggarei. And afterwards? Another drink at the bar, accompanied by DJ sounds or live music - a winter vacation can be so beautiful.
ALPINE SOUL, MODERN STYLE.
Simple lines, cozy design, natural materials—the character of the silver fir defines the space and gives the Schneggarei its unmistakable ambiance.
We don’t just live Alpine tradition—we feel it.
The modern wooden architecture creates an atmosphere where you feel at home from the very first moment.
The inimitable character of the silver fir and the exclusive timber construction in the guest area make the Schneggarei not only unique, but also a place where you feel at home.
There is a family atmosphere in which the alpine tradition can be felt everywhere; and yet the premises also radiate a modern purity. The cultural uniqueness of the region is reflected in the Schneggarei and many people welcome this.
The Kitchen
Modern Austrian classics and wood-fired pizza. Two things that, at first glance, don’t seem to go together—and yet that’s exactly why they’ve been working so well for us for years.
A schnitzel is a schnitzel. Kaiserschmarrn is Kaiserschmarrn. We don’t mess with tradition. What we do: quality ingredients, clean craftsmanship, generous portions. And a wood-fired pizza that has won countless awards.
Vegetarian and vegan dishes are a permanent fixture on the menu—not just a token addition. All 14 major allergens are labeled—but please let us know right away if you have any food intolerances.

The House
Silver fir, grown a few valleys away. Simple lines, warm wood, plenty of light. A house that, after just ten minutes, makes you feel as if you’ve known it for a long time.
Wood does something to a room that no other material can: It stores the day’s warmth, it dampens noise, and it has a distinct scent. In winter, you sit inside while there’s a meter of snow outside, and somehow both feel right at the same time.
And then there’s what you can’t build. Here, no one has to put on airs. Ski boots next to an evening gown—both go together. There are places where you have to dress up to fit in—and then there’s us, where you can come just as you are.
About 120 seats inside and on the sun terrace. Winner of the Vorarlberg Building Owners' Award and the Vorarlberg Wood Construction Award.

A Day with Us...
Lunchtime — Sun, snow, wood-fired oven.
Starting at 11:45 a.m. in winter, starting at 12:00 p.m. in summer. Ski boots are welcome; you can usually snag a seat, and the patio is sunny. Wood-fired pizza, Austrian classics, cold drinks. Winter lunches straight out of a storybook.
In the afternoon — après-ski starting at 3 p.m.
Once you’ve made your last run, the second part of the day begins here. Slip on your ski boots, drape your jacket over the back of a chair, enjoy a cold drink in the crisp air—and the sun terrace is still bathed in sunlight.
A special afternoon menu is available from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Starting at 3:00 p.m., the music gets louder—that’s when the après-ski begins. The sun hangs low over the Omeshorn (starting in February), the music gets louder, the light grows warmer, and no one is in a hurry.
A light snack between lunch and dinner, a drink that lasts longer than planned.
That's après-ski the way we like it: no beer showers, no organized activities. Just the best hour of the day, stretched out a little.
In the evening — Restaurant.
Starting at 6 p.m., things get quieter and a little more serious. The lights dim, the tables are reset, and the ski lodge transforms into a restaurant. Modern Austrian cuisine, excellent craftsmanship, a no-frills menu — and a wood-fired oven that’s been going since noon.
We're often full in the evenings, so please make a reservation if you can plan ahead.
And if not— 50 seats remain unreserved every evening. For anyone who decides to come on a whim, for anyone who was running late, and for anyone who just happens to be standing at the door on their way from the elevator. First come, first served.
After all, the best evening is rarely the one you planned three weeks in advance.

Starting at 10 p.m. — Bar, DJ, live music.
Then the place really comes alive. The lights dim, the bass cranks up, and the Schneggarei becomes what it loves to be most: loud, packed, and laid-back.
It's minus fifteen outside. Inside, there's a silver fir that has been storing heat all day, fogged-up windows, and people from six countries gathered around a table—people who didn't even know each other four hours ago.
Who’s DJing and when is posted on Instagram. And sometimes it’s not posted anywhere—it just happens.

About Us
Schneggarei is run by Leopold and Andreas Schneider. No corporation, no chain—just one shop and two people who are there every day.
You can tell. Not because we say so, but because one of us is usually standing in the room.
We also have a team of about 30 people, put together anew each season, from all over Europe. Many of them come back every year. In the seasonal restaurant business, that’s not something to be taken for granted, and we’re quite proud of it.
